The Princely Family has chosen the hotel’s catering service for receptions given on the occasion of important festivities: in 1997, for the celebration of 700 years of the Grimaldi dynasty, in 1999 to celebrate the 50 years reign of Prince Rainier III, in 2005 for the accession of H.S.H. Prince Albert II of Monaco, and more recently last July 1st, on the occasion of the cocktail reception offered to 6,000 Monegasques for the Civil Wedding of H.S.H. Prince Albert II and Miss Charlene Wittstock.

For the cocktail reception offered to 6,000 Monegasques on the occasion of the Civil Wedding, three themes have symbolized this union: the cultures marriage, the local talent and the environment preservation.
The Principality and South Africa, the traditions wedding: Chefs from the South-African Fairmont Zimbali Resort came and prepared specialities of their region while the Fairmont Monte Carlo proposed local ones.

Les “Petits Chefs” by FMC (cultural and educational program in collaboration with schools François d’Assise – Nicolas Barré and Saint-Charles) represented Monegasque youth, la Brasserie de Monaco, partner of the wedding, created a beer “Mariage Princier” dedicated to the event and the artist Mateo Mornar created a symbolic sculpture, to be placed on the wedding cake.
Most of the buffet material and cutlery were biodegradable and eco-friendly.
