We are ImageLab- The School of excellence. Established in 2019, by co-founders and industry experts, Manuela Nigro and Tina Johnson set out to redesign fashion academia with an unparalleled commitment to innovation.
ImageLab exists to develop a new era of fashion professionals. Focusing on both practical and virtual learning, we provide students with unique, experiential courses of the highest quality, led by the industry’s top professionals. In one short year, ImageLab is considered to be at the forefront of modern learning for the fashion sector.
Situated in the heart of Britain’s topmost vibrant and influential city, Manchester’s MediaCityUK is an internationally renowned global hub for progressive technology and creativity- perfectly encompassing ImageLabs core values. Our bespoke studios and classrooms further enhance the passion to learn within our students, allowing them to unleash their creativity and develop their individual style, as they embark on their unique journey with us.
Our studios may be in Manchester, but our School is universal. At ImageLab, we truly value our international ties by; encouraging the exploration of different cultures, languages and art forms. We believe a greater understanding of what the world and the people in it have to offer, can truly enrich our lives, and inspire our students to excel in skill and knowledge.
At ImageLab, we have created a series of specially designed courses which enable students to not only learn from but work alongside the fashion industry’s top professionals. Our successful execution of this concept helped us gain traction in the fashion world, rapidly attracting interest from numerous businesses who we have entered into a partnership with, in order to provide our student’s with exceptional hands-on experiences.
We exclusively partner with like-minded individuals and forward-thinking companies, who are so closely aligned with ImageLabs purpose to provide exemplary academia and desire to facilitate the next generation of professionals in fashion. This has enabled us to curate a strong community of industry experts, to spearhead our courses and fulfil them to the highest level.
Our practical courses range in duration from 12 weeks to 9 months, to provide ultimate flexibility for our students. We offer comprehensive courses, where students will be closely mentored throughout in; fashion photography, fashion styling, art direction and makeup artistry, all of which are CPD accredited, ensuring ImageLab students’ achievements are globally recognised.
The world as we know it has drastically changed in a matter of months. During this challenging time, we at ImageLab pursued a position of resilience and increased adaptability, as we look on to see what the future brings.
Our recently expanded virtual offering meant launching numerous online courses and utilising the expertise of the incredible experts who already collaborate with ImageLab. Currently, we offer contemporary online courses in fashion combined with aspects of business, technology and sustainability. Each course includes a guaranteed virtual internship to enhance our student’s skills and improve their CV’s. Our student demographic ranges from; graduates interested in kick-starting their career in fashion, current students who would like to learn more about the fashion industry whilst pursuing their degree, and mature students who are already skilled in relevant areas such as digital marketing, social media, analytics, PR and video making/editing.
We wanted to utilise the addition of virtual internships, to transfer the practical fundamentals of Imagelab online. We proved this could be possible by backing up our new concept with hard evidence. Our conclusive market research revealed high levels of desirability surrounding ‘virtual internships’. Projects can easily be discussed and put into motion electronically and due to the uncertainty of the pandemic and a loss of confidence in job prospects, students are looking to take control of their career and gain invaluable experience online.
The opportunity to acquire authentic skills online is rarely offered at such as high level. We recognised the gap ImageLab had filled in the British market, but this quality and deliverance of academia was found to be lacking overseas.
With strong ties to the Italian fashion industry since the School’s inception, Corsi Fashion Online was established as a satellite platform, to bring all that is ImageLab to the Italian market. Corsi Fashion Online is purely virtual, offering all of our outstanding courses online. This platform facilitates student exploration, enabling our students to undertake their studies in English with Italian experts. Also, providing free preparation courses for students taking the Cambridge assessment, Linguaskill, and providing a place at the ImageLab School of Excellence if they desire to study in the UK.
ImageLab unequivocally transcends existing fashion academia bodies, by championing the combination of knowledge and action-based learning. Our experience orientated approach enables students to identify their talents, realise their potential, grow in confidence and refine their craft. Our ultimate mission is to teach invaluable skills to our students and lead the next generation of fashion professionals into the industry as successful artists in their own right.
