MIMOSA

Mimosa is a charity dedicated to educating, preventing and building awareness of cancer. Established on the French Riviera in 2013 by a team of female expats who have experienced how cancer adversely affects our lives, Mimosa strives to make a difference to the communities that we live in.

To date, Mimosa has raised almost half a million euros through the generosity of their supporters at the many events that have been held over the years.  All funds that are raised by the association stay within the community and have been able to directly benefit cancer patients in the region. 

Mimosa’s mission is focused is on EDUCATION, PREVENTION and SUPPORT. They primarily develop education and prevention campaigns to increase knowledge and understanding of cancer. In addition to this, Mimosa supports front line associations who work directly with cancer patients and their families, as well as financing research projects for early detection and cure. 

Since its inception, Mimosa has organised annual fundraising events from marathons and gala auction dinners to children’s sporting and educational events.  The team also encourages people in the region to host their own fundraising events, resulting in a steady stream of fun events and activities throughout the year, and more importantly fostering a real sense of community rallied around a collective cause. 

Mimosa is proud to support frontline associations like La Ligue Contre la Cancer, CSG06 and ISIS at Tzanck Hospital in Mougins who all do immense work in the community and at large. Mimosa is proud to support them in their vital work and are continuously looking for new associations to help and extend its reach further.

Over the past eight years, Mimosa is proud to have supported many projects including the opening of a 'drop-in' centre in Antibes with La Ligue contre le Cancer for cancer patients and their families to go for support and alternative treatment, annual funding for various projects at the paediatric oncology unit at L'Archet Hospital, Nice, and during this more trying global pandemic, ensured an extra layer of comfort and safety for Cancer sufferers in the form of the supply of masks. MImosa has adapted to a virtual way of fundraising during this particularly difficult time to ensure that projects can still be supported in the area and continue its vital work.
