Auctions
Zachys is the #1 wine auction house in the world with over US$ 85,000,000 in auction sales alone in 2020, bringing Zachys’ two-year total to US$ 206,786,472! Zachys’ auctions are events on the calendars of major international collectors. Held at some of the world’s best restaurants including Le Bernardin and Per Se, Zachys wine auctions are also events bidders and consignors love to be a part of. In addition to in-room bidding, collectors log on and bid “live online,” absentee, and over the phone.
Private Sales
Zachys is a 75-year-old retail business, and to this day remains one of the top merchants of Bordeaux and Tuscan wine in the US. All told in 2020, Zachys sold over US$ 40,000,000 in wine. Zachys’ database of international collectors means that whatever you’re selling, Zachys can arrange a buyer at the top price(s).
Shipping, Logistics & Storage
Zachys works with an international network of temperature-controlled logistics teams to move wine around the globe safely. In fact, Zachys shipped wine a total of over 200,000 miles (that’s over 3,200,000 kilometers) in 2020! For this, Zachys also utilized 133 real-time temperature trackers on our wine shipments in the US, Asia, and Europe to ensure the integrity of the shipments. Zachys also has a white-glove Wine Specialist team who is responsible for assessing and packing multi-million-dollar collections from locations as diverse as Denmark, Hokkaido, and California.
Winemaker Dinners
Zachys holds dinners for top clientele with the world’s most famous winemakers. In the years past, Zachys has done dinners with Saskia and Baron Eric de Rothschild (at numerous locations, including Château Lafite), Charles Philipponnat, Chiara Pepe, Clovis Taittinger, Frederic Engerer (of Latour and Clos de Tart), and many, many more.
Luxury Wine Dinners
Zachys’ focus is on the best of the best. First Growth Bordeaux, Grand Cru Burgundy, and Grande Marque Champagne. Wines from producers such as Domaine de la Romanée-Conti, Rousseau, Mouton Rothschild, and Krug. Every year, Zachys holds dozens of high-end events tailored to the finest wines in the world at the best restaurants in the world. Recent events include dinners at Eleven Madison Park in Alain Passard’s private garden and a full buyout of restaurant Faviken, shortly before it closed. These are not just wine dinners, they are once-in-a lifetime experiences that cannot be reproduced.
Charity Auctions
Zachys’ Principal Auctioneer, Fritz Hatton, and Head of Sale Charles Antin, are two of the busiest charity auctioneers in the country; combined, they help raise tens of millions of dollars annually by auctioneering for a diverse group of charitable organizations such as Auction Napa Valley, the Nashville Wine Auction, and many, many more charity auctions not directly affiliated with the wine collecting world. Charles and Fritz are available as auctioneers and consultants, whether it is to add input to an existing auction or help create one from scratch. As consultants, they work closely with organizations large and small to ensure that a high level of professionalism is brought to all aspects of charity fundraising auctions.
European Expansion
Zachys’ expansion into Europe continues full steam ahead! In 2020 Zachys kicked off its London auction venues with the single-owner, 100% sold, sale of Enoteca Pinchiorri: The Legendary Cellar, and London II, Zachys’ first multi-vendor London auction! Combined these two sales realized over US$ 7 million!
Led by Head of Europe, Christy Erickson, Zachys Europe has continued this exponential growth by investing strategically in specialists. Christy is joined in France by Edouard Berry and Marie Martel, and in Stockholm by industry veteran Totte Steneby.
