Ken Done: A Solo Exhibition And Book Launch Showcasing His Forty Year Career In A Variety Of Mediums

To celebrate the release of Ken Done Art Design Life, Amber Creswell Bell has curated a selection of Ken Done's works showcasing his 40 year career in a variety of mediums. These works illustrate Ken's versatility and love of making art in all its various forms.

“Few Australian artists could be identified so confidently in a line-up as Ken Done. For forty years, he has chronicled Australia, documenting how it feels to be Australian with an exuberance and style that is immediately recognisable.”  Amber Creswell Bell, 'Ken Done: Art Design Life', Thames & Hudson, 2021

"Nothing more exciting than a white canvas and starting. Nothing more difficult than knowing when to finish. And even when you finish, well - that's only half the conversation. Then it's what someone else feels about it, what someone else's perspective brings to it."  Ken Done
'Ken Done: Art Design Life', Thames & Hudson, 2021.

"Ken believes that an artist should be influenced by every single thing they've ever seen. In his own practice, he can pick out the obvious influences - Matisse, Bonnard, Picasso, van Gogh - obvious, in the sense that they are so ubiquitous; it would be hard not to be influenced by them.... [M]aintaining inspiration is a matter of finding pleasure in using your eyes." Amber Creswell Bell, 'Ken Done: Art Design Life', Thames & Hudson, 2021
